NICEIC Approved Contractor

The NICEIC is the UK's leading electrical contracting authority, assessing contractors against the highest technical and safety standards in the industry. As an approved contractor, HOJ Electrical undergoes regular assessment to maintain this status.

It means every job we carry out is compliant with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), properly certified, and backed by one of the most respected bodies in the UK electrical industry.

What it means for you

Peace of mind. Proper documentation. Work that's safe, compliant, and certified — and a contractor that's held accountable to an independent authority.

CompEx Ex01-04 Certified

CompEx is the internationally recognised competency scheme for personnel working in explosive and hazardous atmospheres. Our director holds Ex01-04 certification — covering the full scope of electrical installation, inspection, maintenance, and equipment selection in ATEX-regulated environments.

This isn't a course — it's a rigorous assessment of practical competency in environments where getting it wrong isn't an option. Very few electrical contractors in the region hold this level of certification.

What it means for you

When you need specialist work in a hazardous area, you're working with someone who has been independently assessed as competent to do it safely and correctly.

BS 7671 Qualified

All our electricians are qualified to the current 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations — the standard that governs electrical installation in the UK.

What it means for you

Every installation we carry out meets current legal requirements and industry best practice.

ATEX Compliant

We understand and work within the ATEX directive for equipment and protective systems in potentially explosive atmospheres — essential for biogas, oil & gas, and chemical processing environments.

What it means for you

Compliant, safe installations in hazardous environments with full traceability and documentation.

ECS Card Holders

All operatives carry valid ECS cards — the recognised proof of qualification and competency for electricians working on UK construction sites.

What it means for you

Qualified, verified people on your site — every time.

IPAF Certified Operators

Our team holds valid IPAF licences for the safe operation of powered access equipment — including scissor lifts and boom lifts — essential for working safely at height on industrial and commercial sites.

What it means for you

Safe, competent operation of access equipment on site, with no need to source separately certified operators.

First Aid Trained

All our operatives are trained to Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) standard, giving the team the skills and confidence to respond properly should an incident occur on site.

What it means for you

A safer site for everyone — our team is equipped to respond, not just comply.

Credentials Aren't
Box-Ticking.

In the sectors we work in — biogas, industrial processing, hazardous environments — the consequences of electrical work carried out by unqualified or unverified contractors can be catastrophic. Fires, explosions, injuries, shutdowns, legal liability.

Our accreditations exist to give you certainty. Certainty that the people on your site know what they're doing. That the work meets the standard. That if something is ever questioned, you have the documentation to back it up.

We don't just hold these certifications — we work to them, every day, on every job.
